Accessible India Campaign


An awareness workshop on Accessible India Campaign and the Inclusiveness & Accessibility Index was held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on 21st May,2016. Collector Navsari , Shri Ravi Kumar Arora was invited as an Expert to address the audience on “ Accessible India Campaign- Lessons from actual Implementation in the field”. Shri Ravi Arora was Collector Valsad before joining as Collector Navsari on 10th May, 2016. During his tenure at Valsad  he along with his team has conceived and put into execution an ambitious project of First ever disabled-friendly, barrier-free beach of India at Valsad. The project is currently in the work Phase and is due for public access by the end of June, 2016. He had also conducted a successful Mega Disability Camp at Valsad on 20th -21st January,2016 whereby 4500  specially-abled people received benefits of various forms ranging from distribution of kits, certificates, employement, matrimonial alliance facilitation etc. District Navsari now stands to benefit from the efforts of Shri Ravi Arora in the field of disability issues. Already he has scheduled  disability assessment camps for 5 days in Navsari as a pre cursor to distribution of benefits under the ADIP scheme of Central Government. The Camps are scheduled to be conducted as follows:

1.      Navsari- 6th & 7th  June,2016

2.      Gandevi-8th June,2016

3.      Vansda-10th June,2016

4.      Chikhli- 11th June
