The abhayam helpline has been providing 24X7 free counseling, guidance and information through a centralized response centre. The helpline also aims to effect rescues in situations like domestic or other violence to and shift vulnerable women to safe places.
Till now,it was operational through a call centre number.From today,it will be available on a simple app on google play store.after installing the app,one has to register and the app identifies the phone location and a green button appears on the screen.By simply touching this button once,an automatic call is placed to the call centre.It is useful to place an emergency call for a woman in a compromised situation.
The navsari abhayam team consists of dynamic counsellors and pilots as well as police personnel.I am sure their focus on awareness generation will draw good response from the young college going crowd and working women.
